Flowers and Deities Patch 8.15
The day-after hotfix for rain, frames, and unreadable UI.
Patch 8.15 landed on 15 August 2026, the morning after launch. It is a short note and a long quality-of-life shift. If your Underworld column looks like a slideshow, this is the page. If you want new units, you want Launch Notes instead.
The five bullets, in player language
-
Underworld performance. The chance of performance issues on the Underworld map went down. That map is the rainy, glittery one late campaigns wander into. If you still stutter, do not assume the patch failed. Use bullet two.
-
Low-End Mode. A new Settings option disables rain, buff effects, and hit effects. This is the toggle Controls treats as part of a Bloodshade kit. Turn it on before you delete a shade build.
-
Text and UI fixes. Keyword scars and mislabeled panels were a demo complaint. This pass is why we tell you to update Steam before you assume the wiki is wrong.
-
Bloodshade algorithms. “Optimized” here means the death-triggered spirits are cheaper or cleaner to simulate. Shade-heavy Flayed plans should feel less like a particle bomb. The rules of shades still live on How Blood Works.
-
UI scaler 1–3. The old 1–2 range was not enough for three-page inventories. Raise it if you are mis-selling heroics.
What 8.15 does not do
It does not add units, faiths, or a shorter campaign. It does not restore demo saves. It does not nerf thunder priests or rewrite the 6×5 grid. Balance feelings still belong on the review and the Units Tier List.
If a later Steam news post replaces these bullets, this page will move or grow. We will not invent an 8.16. Check Official Links for the news hub.
How to play after the patch
Update the game. Turn on Low-End Mode if you are entering Underworld or stacking shades. Raise UI scale before a Forge session. Then ignore this page until the next official note. The campaign tracker does not need a new column for a hotfix.
Commanders on older hardware should treat Low-End Mode as default, not as an admission. The developers added it because the rainforest wants to be pretty and the autobattler wants to be readable. Readable wins.
If you file a bug after 8.15, say whether Low-End Mode was on, which column you were in, and whether shades were spawning. That is the report the Discord can use. “Game laggy” is not. Pair the report with the system requirements line you think you meet. A GTX 670 on recommended settings is a different ticket from an M1 Mac on Catalina minimums.
This hotfix is also a reminder that launch week is alive. Do not bookmark a June video as patch truth. Bookmark Steam news. Then come back to How Blood Works if the algorithm change made your shade plan feel different in the hand, even if the tooltip did not move.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers drawn from the current Steam build.
When did patch 8.15 ship?
15 August 2026, the day after the 14 August launch, according to the Steam news post.
Does Low-End Mode change damage numbers?
The note only says it disables rain, buff effects, and hit effects. Treat it as visual. If a later patch changes that, we will say so.
I still stutter on Underworld. Now what?
Enable Low-End Mode, lower other Steam overlay extras, and confirm you launched the 1.0 app rather than a leftover demo.
Did 8.15 change Bloodshade rules?
It optimized their algorithms. We do not treat that as a design nerf until a later note says the triggers changed.
Should I reinstall to get 8.15?
No. Update through Steam. Then confirm the news date in the client before you file a performance bug.
