Flowers and Deities Launch Notes

What 14 August 2026 actually unlocked.

Launch Notes

Chill Winter Studio’s launch post is the cleanest 1.0 document we have. Flowers and Deities left playtest and demo status on 14 August 2026 with a rewritten campaign and a pile of systems that were locked or thin in June. This page is that post, translated into wiki language, plus the save warning that sat in a separate news item the same day.

If you want the mechanical follow-through, jump to How to Beat the Campaign, How to Recruit, or Forge and Enchantments.

Campaign

The main campaign is now a 6×5 stage structure. After you clear it, hidden Arenas and phantoms of past champions open. Defeats on lower and medium difficulties slightly reduce enemy equipment budgets. Shop and Forge were “greatly improved.” Reputation now grants more additional Favors, which is how late battles get larger. Achievements exist. The Statistics Tablet after a campaign is thicker.

That is the shape of a first week. It is also why a three-hour run is not a personal failure. The grid is long on purpose.

Army

Fifty-plus new units, including legendary-tier soldiers and beasts. Slave Hunting lets you capture enemies after certain battles. Advanced Undead gain a degree of Desecrated Weapon. Lower-tier Undead gain the Slave trait. All ranged units recruit in smaller numbers and attack one second slower.

If your demo plan was “buy three packs of darters,” read the Units Tier List again. If your plan was “wait for the shop to love me,” read Reputation as a promotion curve, not as a mood.

Items, spells, blessings

Twenty-plus magic items fully updated. All artifacts unlocked, plus 20+ new modifiers. Fifteen-plus new spells. All eight character archetypes and four faith paths unlocked. Most blessings rebalanced. Maximum poison stacks 5 → 8. All weapon enchantment damage increased.

Store marketing still says 12 tactical archetypes and 100+ blessings. We keep both sentences on Origins and Faiths instead of pretending they are the same list.

Feather Ornaments let legendary units consume feathers for attributes. That is the late sink playtesters asked for when gold stopped mattering.

Demo saves

A separate 14 August note disabled demo save compatibility. You cannot continue a Next Fest profile in 1.0. Start a new commander. Getting Started is the on-ramp.

What this is not

This is not a complete reprint of every spring demo patch. Those notes (Reach rework, 80 redesigned blessings, Custom Battle, Mac demo) are history that still explains keywords. They are not the live patch. For the day-after hotfix, open Patch 8.15.

Steam’s introductory discount was listed on the store page at launch week. Prices move. Trust the store widget, not a wiki number, if you came here to buy the game.

The review is the first-week verdict. This page is only what the developers said they shipped.

If you are writing a patch comparison later, start from this page, not from memory of the Humble playtest key. The playtest was a slice. 1.0 is the grid, the captures, the feathers, and the unlocked idols. Mixing those two timelines is how a tier list letter goes stale in a week. We will mark demo-only sentences when we keep them for vocabulary. We will not pretend June’s shop is August’s shop.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the current Steam build.

Is the 6×5 campaign in the demo?

No. Launch expanded the campaign into that grid and added hidden arenas after you finish it.

Did launch unlock every faith?

Launch notes say all four faith paths and eight archetypes are unlocked. The store still describes four origins and faiths as the starting choice.

Can I import a Humble or Next Fest save?

Not into 1.0. Demo save compatibility was disabled on launch day.

Where is Slave Hunting explained?

On How to Recruit Units. It is a capture step after certain battles, not a second shop.

Did launch add achievements?

Yes. The launch post says the achievement system is available, along with a thicker Statistics Tablet after a campaign.
